USA Cycling on Friday unveiled the U.S. National Team kits riders will wear in July and August at the Olympic Games in London. The retro-styled uniforms are a throwback to the 1980s and resemble those worn by Connie Carpenter, Alexi Grewal and company in Los Angeles in 1984.

The road, track and mountain bike teams will wear uniforms designed and built by SKINS, while Nike will outfit the BMX squad.

“The kits look amazing,” said 2012 U.S. Mountain Bike Olympic Team member Sam Schultz in a release. “I’m super fired up for them. I like the sort of retro look. It’s clean. Hopefully we can ride as well as those kits look.”

SKINS’ general counsel Benjamin Fitzmaurice called the national team kits the company’s “favorite design.”

The technical speed clothing brings together our knowledge of fit and light weight aero fabrics,” he said. “We will be screaming at the TV in excitement during the Games.”
